On the slopes of Mount Olympus, in the shadow of the mountain of the gods, at an altitude of 700 meters and with a magnificent view of Thermaikos Gulf, just 43 km away from Katerini, at the southwestern tip of Central Macedonia, on the eastern slopes of Mount Olympus, of the twelve gods of antiquity. There, at the end of the 14th century, the picturesque village named Palaios Panteleimonas was founded. A traditional settlement that has managed to maintain its picturesqueness, in an area full of natural beauties. It is characterized as a traditional settlement as it is one of the best examples of traditional Macedonian architecture in northern Greece. In the central paved square of the village with the centuries-old plane trees, Palaios Panteleimonas managed to preserve its local "color" as it almost deserted in the 1950s. For thirty whole years the village had been abandoned by its inhabitants, who built it New Panteleimonas, 6 km to the sea. Since the 1980s, however, the village has begun to live again. The locals returned and renovated the old Macedonian mansions, the school, the cobbled streets and the cobbled square.
